THE SGMNS SERIES IS BASED ON A STANDARDISED MODULAR PLATFORM WITH A 4-AXLE BASE WAGON AND MULTIPLE OUTFITTINGS, TO RAPILY ADAPT TO DIFFERENT OPERATIONAL NEEDS: A MULTIFUNCTIONAL SOLUTION WITH ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES.

The Sgmns wagon is a rail vehicle that can be used for both commercial transport and as a work vehicle. It can move 20-40 feet goods containers for intermodal transport and can be used for the construction and maintenance of rail infrastructure on-site.

Main components

The frame has two ‘box’ side solebars made up of an IPE 600 beam and a reinforcement plate positioned inside the flap, connected by a welded plate. The top part of the frame is equipped with hooks to secure containers. The central hooks are fixed on a movable hinge that allows different types and sizes of containers and equipment to be installed.
The Sgmns wagon is equipped with 2 Y25 Lssi(f) – K bogies with TSI certification, acknowledged in all respects as interoperable components. Brake cylinders, a brake rigging regulator and proportioning valves are directly integrated in each bogie. A handbrake is positioned on one of the two bogies and can be operated on the ground via a handwheel. Type BA004 wheelsets with an axle load of 22.5 tons allows the wagon to support 70 tons. The wagon uses 920 mm diameter monobloc wheels.
The primary suspension is double coil helical springs, with a LENOIR dampening device. Rubber pads are placed between the wagon frame and bogies.
The Sgmns wagon is equipped with UIC standard traction – buffing gears.
The Sgmns wagon is equipped with an automatic compressed air brake with brake shoes. The brake system complies with TSI Wagon standards. Unlike traditional braking devices allowing only vacuum/force adjustment, the proportioning devices allow optimal braking for all loads.

SGMNS

The Sgmns wagon is authorised for commissioning on Italian railway infrastructure by the Italian National Railway Safety Authority (ANSF). It is registered with the Italian National Vehicle Registry (RIN) and can circulate without limitations as part of a train on the whole Italian railway network, at a speed of 100 km/h fully loaded and a speed of 120 km/h at tare weight.

The Sgmns wagon is also authorised to circulate on temporarily closed line on the Italian Railway Network and is registered with the RUMO (The Italian Registry of Work Vehicles), and can therefore be used for the construction and maintenance of railway infrastructure.

SRT will commission new rolling stock if a client requests it.

When a vehicle is delivered, a team of specialised technicians will carry out on-site tests to ensure the machine and all its parts work perfectly.

Training can also be provided on correct function and basic maintenance for staff who will use the machine.

SRT offers after-sales assistance on all the vehicles it produces, providing original parts and specialised labour.

A team of skilled technicians, with a fully-equipped mobile workshop, offer rapid, effective service to solve any problem or malfunction.

On request, SRT vehicles can be equipped with a remote monitoring system. This self-powered data transmission system is connected to sensors on the vehicle and monitors the main operating parameters of the machine:

  • position and speed
  • (maximum) braking efficiency
  • component position and number of movements
  • engine conditions
  • operator/driver identification

  • Knowing the distance the vehicle has travelled, to determine wear and tear on mechanical parts

  • Recording machine function parameters to obtain concrete data for future maintenance schedules
